Job Title: Logistics Officer
Location: Pointe Noire, Republic of the Congo
Reports To: Head of Logistics Base

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Logistics Officer to support efficient logistics and supply chain operations, ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services. This role involves coordinating procurement, inventory management, vendor oversight, and data analysis to optimize supply chain performance.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Logistics Operations Support: Execute standard logistics processes to facilitate the effective distribution of goods and services to beneficiaries.
  2. Procurement & Delivery Coordination: Ensure timely ordering and delivery of commodities to authorized partners and destinations.
  3. Vendor Management: Assist in contracting, performance monitoring, and evaluation of logistics service providers.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement: Respond to technical queries, resolve operational issues, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Budget & Reporting: Contribute to budget planning, financial monitoring, and reporting (e.g., inventory status, transport performance).
  6. Inventory & Data Management: Monitor stock levels, maintain accurate records, and ensure data integrity in corporate systems.
  7. Documentation & Compliance: Process logistics documentation (customs clearance, invoices) and escalate issues as needed.
  8. Pipeline Analysis: Support assessments and operational planning for all delivery modalities.
  9. Team Guidance: Provide direction to support staff to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to standard.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Secondary school diploma required. A post-secondary certificate in logistics, supply chain, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant logistics/supply chain experience.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in corporate logistics systems for tracking shipments, stock, and insurance claims.
    • Experience in data analysis, report drafting, and performance monitoring (KPIs).
    • Knowledge of contract preparation and procurement processes.
  • Language:
    • Fluency in English (Level C) and French (Level C) required.
    • Additional UN language proficiency is an asset.
